What do AI, VR, IoT, Machine Learning and Blockchain have in common?

Back in May last year I had this idea of putting together a slightly different kind of conference. One for creatives who like to shove boundaries and would appreciate exploring the future as it’s introduced today. This June, the team behind The Fresh Digital School brings you a light version of this event with five days total of five workshops and five meet-ups (well actually one of them is in the same day as São João in Porto and sardines, sangria and fireworks are far more significant ).

Let’s face it: there’s a lot of tasks we would like machines to do for us but at the same time we all get the ethical implications (not considering Skynet on the list here). Get to meet Joel van Bodegraven who will explore along with you the possibilities and applications of predictive UX and to accommodate that today.

Most of you most likely already heard of it and instantaneously think of Nest’s thermostat from a few years ago. But despite the topic has gone cold in hype it doesn’t mean we’ve accomplished all we can there. Brainstorm around a plucky fresh world of possibilities as Ricardo Lobo put’s up to date with the key developments in latest years and then drives you away to actually do some work.

The possibilities are endless. You think you know what it is? You very likely only scraped the surface. If you have spare Bitcoin to spend then do it wisely and attend the workshop with Paulo Fonseca and Mitchel Loureiro while you learn how to use blockchains to design social systems to fuel themselves.

Virtual Reality has been around for many many years. But it seems the worst part was always taking it from virtual hypothetical applications to real life implements (pun intended). Sophie Ashcroft will guide you in creating prototypes for many upcoming areas of application such as arts, gaming, visual communications and more.

Lot’s of topics have been growing in interest in the last few months but Artificial Intelligence seems to be here to stay. Previously the matter of computer geniuses and university labs, Machine Learning is now a part of many industries from e-commerce to production plants. Find from Mário Antunes what are the basics of ML and how it can be used in your projects of tomorrow (pun intended once again… sorry).

Do get in touch if you have any questions (DM Tiago Pedras or Sara Noronha Ramos) and invite your friends to attend too. Let us know in case you have any suggestions.
